Application is now open for the 2024/25 academic year. 

The extended application deadline is 20 May 2024. 

After selecting the study programme that you intend to apply for and checking the relevant admission requirements, you can submit your application, following the steps described below.  

 

Step 1: Fill in the application form 

The application form must be filled in and submitted online.  

Step 2: Pay the application fee and submit the proof of payment 

The application fee is HUF 8000.  

It is a non-refundable fee payable for taking part in the admissions procedure. It shall not be refunded even if the applicant is not invited for the entrance examination or fails to take it. 

The application fee must be paid by transfer to the bank account of the University. For the technical payment details click here.  

You must submit the proof of payment (proof of transaction or bank statement) in email to the International Relations Office. 

Step 3: Submit the required application documents 

All of the following application documents must be submitted in pdf format in email to the International Relations Office: 

  • Bachelor’s degree 

You must submit your bachelor’s degree both in its original language and its certified translation into English. 

If you haven’t received your bachelor’s degree at the time of application, please contact the International Relations Office before submitting your application. 

  • Academic transcript 

You must submit your academic transcript both in its original language and in English. 

The transcript should include all your grades obtained during the 3 or 4 years of your bachelor’s studies, along with information about the grading scale. 

  • Proof of English proficiency 

You are required to submit a language exam certificate attesting to your level of English proficiency (at least CEFR B2). You can check out the accepted language exams here

There are three cases in which you are not required to submit a language exam certificate:  

    • if your mother tongue is English,  
    • if you obtained your bachelor’s degree in a programme taught entirely in English (a certificate of the medium of instruction is required), 
    • if you obtained your bachelor’s degree in a country where English is one of the official languages. 
  • Motivation letter 

Please submit a motivation letter describing the reasons behind your choice of study programme. The document should not be longer than 1 page (format: Times New Roman, 12 pt). 

  • Photo 

You must submit a small, passport-size photo of yourself. 

  • Copy of passport 

You are required to submit a copy of your passport including the page(s) containing the following data: passport number, photo, name, nationality, date of birth, date of issue, date of expiry and signature. 

EU nationals may submit a copy of their ID card instead of their passport. 

  • Reference letter (recommended but not compulsory) 

Your reference letter should be written by a university lecturer or some other professional who is familiar with your academic achievements.  

It should be presented on an institutional headed paper and bear the referee’s signature and the stamp of the institution.  

The letter should not be longer than 1 page. 

Please note that only complete applications (i.e. including all the documents listed above) can be accepted. 

Step 4: Your application will be evaluated by the Admissions Committee.  

Successful applicants will be invited to take an entrance examination.
